George Mello, Construction Administration & Observation Manager:
George has overall responsibility for day-to-day management and scheduling for construction administration, field observation, serves as a liaison between TEC clients and construction contractors, and provides construction management for planning boards and town departments of public works. He participates in the design phase of TEC projects, advising on construction methods and practices, materials applications, cost estimating, specifications, and contracting procedures. His experience includes roadways and utilities, site developments, and marine facilities industrial parks, highways, commercial and industrial wharves and bulkheads, as well as sewer and water projects. George has been active in various phases of the construction engineering field since 1969.
Derek Mello, Construction Services Manager:
Derek has over 20 years of experience working in the construction field including construction observation and testing, and supervising employees in field and laboratory settings. He has performed various test procedures following ASTM and AASHTO standards, participated in the CCRL and AASHTO proficiency programs, observed paving operations on behalf of various Town Public Works and Planning Departments, performed specialized testing on brick samples.
Chris White, P.E., Senior Geotechnical Engineer:
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Mr. White works with staff engineers and clients on projects requiring design, specifications, investigations, and testing of foundations and building materials. He also provides technical review of engineering reports, calculations and designs. Chris served as Laboratory Director for TEC and has over 40 years of experience in laboratory testing and materials engineering of soils, concrete, bituminous, steel and masonry products.
Bob Chaput, P.E., Senior Geotechnical Engineer, President & CEO:
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Bob has over 28 years of experience working on geotechnical engineering projects. His responsibilities include project management, coordination of subsurface investigations, technical analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and earth slopes. Bob’s experience providing geotechnical engineering services on a variety of projects includes roadways, utilities, airports, wastewater treatment facilities and lagoons, schools, large retail facilities, communication towers, industrial structures and large wind farms. Bob also serves as President and CEO of TEC’s parent company, S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc.
George Block, P.E., Senior Engineer, Taunton Regional Manager:
George has over 40 years of experience in a broad range of civil engineering activities. His primary focus has been public works planning, engineering and management. Working with many municipalities throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, George has served as project manager on many roadway reconstruction projects and sewer and water system redesigns throughout his career at TEC.
